Issues & Programs
NCSEA is the "go to" organization in North Carolina on energy policy. In collaboration with our individual and business members across North Carolina and partner organizations, NCSEA works extensively with the NC General Assembly, NC Utilities Commission, NC's state agencies, commissions and councils, local elected officials, and others to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency through education, public policy and economic development.
NCSEA's goal is to help our new Governor, elected officials and other key decision makers to lay the foundation for a robust sustainable energy economy - or "green economy." NCSEA's policy and programmatic work is helping to retain or create tens of thousands of jobs in manufacturing, building retrofits, new construction, and renewable energy and energy efficiency industries by providing incentives and requirements for greater use of sustainable energy solutions.
The success of energy efficiency and renewable energy manufacturers and installers in 2009-2010 will help jump start rapid job growth in 2011 and beyond, regardless of whether the electric utilities make a good faith effort to comply with the state Renewable Energy and Efficiency Portfolio Standard (REPS) they agreed to in 2007.
